    Piracy- is when armed men board a boat that is at sea. Whether it be anchored or running.

    If 4 men decide to take a boat out to an anchored boat and the men board the boat and are armed you can sure as hell bet they're not looking to steal a piece of candy, and you can also bet that if they are armed with deadly weapons, they are ready to use what they're armed with (knives). Perhaps you would like to be their victim, I will not be and your analogy is so far off base it's comical. If a man walked into a store and walked up to the counter with a knife to steal a piece of candy, chances are he wouldn't have a knife out just to steal a piece of candy. When you board a boat armed, it's no different than breaking into someone's house with a gun or knife. If they were just there to steal things, they wouldn't be armed, they'd sneak on get their stuff, sneak off. They were prepared for a confrontation and ready to confront.

    Per the news release; "In the early hours they were boarded by armed pirates and robbed," said former Madang Governor . Later in the article, big knives were commented on.
    Unlike theft by taking (your candy example), these intruders came in after the store was closed, had weapons and were looking for more than candy. Watches and cash is personal. Dive equipment is heavy. I'm sure a warm and friendly environment would be present for NYCAP123 to inquire how the intruders felt and offer to help find blame in somebody else for their actions. Maybe offer to help with that heavy stuff they just stole (armed theft)... Now, That's ridiculous...

    Maybe we should ask the parson who was actually involved how serious he takes it. Oh that's right, he declined to presue the matter.

    Oh wait, he was not there. It was the crew "and were confronted by the Papua New Guinean crew" That maybe we should ask?

    Reading the bottom of the news letter;
    A year ago, local villagers armed with machetes, spears and guns attacked a trekking group on the Black Cat track in Morobe province, killing three Papua New Guinean porters and injuring several of the Australian and New Zealand hikers.

    Could have been on the crews mind? Left a dark spot somewhere?
