Finishing teak deck chairs

Natural is a good look. If you don't want them to gray up spray with soap, water and 10% bleach every two weeks or so. Agitate with a rag if you need to. Don't cover them when they are wet to reduce mold, etc. Put those little rubber feet on them to keep them out of the deck water so the ends don't turn black. Give them a very light sanding with 600 at the beginning of the year to remove burrs if you need too. They will last a life time and always look good. Also. even though the hardware looks to be brass/bronze, put a little daub of waterproof grease in the angle selector under each arm for continued smooth operation.

Whoops, forget the grease. they aren't recliners. Most hardware stores have them. Attach with SS screws and a small washer if necessary.

We have chairs from Bluewater chairs and have a satin Eurethane finish, I think they use Watco......but they are nice and have held up perfectly for the last year.....The satin finish makes up for a lot in application or lack of application. I agree the high gloss is beautiful but a pain to apply right and such.
