    Hi,

I understand it is just undergoing further sea trails not a delivery voyage.

Interesting to see the good cloud of black smoke courtesy of the clean burning MTU Power plants.

  3. For sure, they are not satisfied with all experiences already made with her, but i believe this comes from the very traditional-straight lines for a very big thing. Well, for me she seems more like a luxury cruise ship than a private yacht. I can feel already the man satisfied with her again. Even in pics, it is a huge white swan, but for some way, it does not make me this wow i ever expected, like the first renderings, which are much more interesting as exterior. I really don't know why he didn't choose that, instead of making so many changes. Have you seen that she made a sea trial without windows and that the windows frames seems all dark grey? Really strange the colour combinations they experimented on her.

Well, to me, "Eclipse" does not look very much different from the final renderings and the model that we saw last year so MKM I am not so sure what you are trying to say.

Anyone with hi-res pics of Eclipse we can add to YF's wallpaper section? Please contact me. :)
  7. Map where she is located. (Eclipse, Orca, Nahlin)

^ well, i made a map for orientation if someone would like or interested with a better camera than mine to do. It has some boat trips for € 10 to get this area, tickets by Rickmer Rickmers, but not always they approach to the Yacht Docks 5 and 12. Both Orca and Eclipse are behind those closed docks (5 & 12 respectively), so in a place very difficult yet to make a good wallpaper pic. Nahlin is better positioned for such near Dock 4 where Fitnes is.

PS: Amica just entered the port now, it's a small one.

M/Y Eclipse: World’s Largest Yacht to Undergo Sea Trials in Norway
Motor yacht Eclipse is due to arrive in Kristiansand, Norway next month, according to a Norwegian newspaper fvn.no. The mega yacht will stay in Kristiansand for a week to undergo sea trials.
.As reported by fvn.no, it is believed that M/Y Eclipse will arrive in Kristiansand on 16th/17th May, coinciding with Norwegian Constitution Day, the National Day of Norway. Eclipse will stay in Kristiansand for a week where she will undergo sea trials.

News of the arrival of mega yacht Eclipse follows the delivery of the 115m Luna to Roman Abramovich, which took place on 10th April in Kristiansand. M/Y Luna is the world's largest exploration yacht, allowing long distance cruises without the need to refuel, whilst travelling in spacious, luxurious living areas.

M/Y Eclipse, widely thought to belong to Roman Abramovich, first hit the water in June 2009. She was built at German shipyard Blohm + Voss and features interior design by the celebrated, London-based Terence Disdale Design.

It's a over-finished regular ship, quite an average design for a yacht.

  10. ^ yes, this is already discussed in 'eclipse' thread
    smaller cruise ship-yacht appearance only for US$ 800 millions.

MODERATORS: Suggestion: i gentle ask mods to merge this thread posts to where they belong: Motor Yacht > Blohm + Voss > Eclipse, because those 2 paralel ones can be generating confusion. People writes here, when most of those things & news are already mentioned in 'B+V Eclipse' part. Thanks for colaboration.

PS: Eclipse is still behind Dock 12 in Hamburg Port, which i believe she will stay there for interiors' finishings until Sea Trials mid may.

    MKM,

The threads have been merged. In the future, please use prudence in posting links to other websites that are similar in nature to YF.

Semi high-res Carl, however I don't know the source and can't give credit to them. I came across them in a different search.

Was my post deleted with the high res image links, or did I not click submit, or was it all a bad dream?

    Thanks for the update MKM.
  19. Thanks. But just a correction, took 5h to get Cuxhaven, when she passes at 15:00 Germany time. Sorry my mistake!
  20. Back from Sea Trial ...

She is now back from her Sea Trial in Kristiansand, entering Elbe river at 23:40 Germany time. So in middle of night, just to not have pictures of her passing here. :D I missed her in check-out, while i prefered still sleeping and at breakfast. So also No problem at check-in at all, cause her design, although all correct and nice for like a small cruise ship, is not really that impressive to me as yacht.
