After many enjoyable years, I am leaving boating and have two classic books for sale:
    (1) American Practical Navigator ("Bowditch") with CD-ROM. This in the 2002 Bicentennial Edition of Pub No. 9 and is in excellent condition. Dark blue cover with gold lettering.

    (2) Chapman Piloting - Seamanship and Small Boat Handling. This is the 55th Edition, copyright 1981 and also is in excellent condition. Dark blue cover with gold lettering.

These books are excellent reference and learning resources and would make a wonderful gift. I'd like to sell them together as they have always been together on my book shelf. $80 or best offer for the pair, buyer pays shipping from the Chicago suburbs. LMK if any questions about these items. Thanks.

Surprisingly, no interest in these books. I thought someone would love to have them on their bookshelf but I guess not. Is it the $80 price for the pair???

My thanks to another member who advises my price is not competitive with that of Amazon. I guess I was confusing sentimental value with actual value... New price is $40 for the pair. Any interest out there? Thanks.

These are classic books for sure, but any used book store probably have 'em for $10.00 each :(
Got myself a brand new Bowditch for $20 in 2000 from a Maritime School here in town.
Gave it away to the guy who bought my sailboat last year.
More and more folks read on tablets these days. Including moa.
Going to clean out my bookshelfs and donate to used book stores and charities. Love to read, but books are expensive and take up space.
Some place on the internet let you read unlimited from their 30,000 volume library for $7 a month. (why buy when you can rent).
That kind of program may be the future, like Netflix for books.
