Previous co-owner of Sunseeker predator 72 and 82.
Have not had a boat for a while but I am now ready to get an open boat for the Med.

    VanDutch 55:
Was initially impressed with the VanDutch 55 but lost interest after doing DD on the company behind it.
Foredeck not utilised to well but beautiful boat and good entertaining space.
Their 75 never came out. Anyone in the know on whats the future for this brand?

    Rivas:
Beautiful boats BUT very poor use of deck space on most of them I find.
Virtus has the looks but just not great layout on deck. Anything below 63 feet is not very good either as getting around does not feel safe if your have seniors on board.
I get that the deckhand can jump around like a gazelle but age does not allow me to do that anymore so need something a bit safer.
Got very excited when I saw video of 76 Bahamas. It looks like it has a far better layout for a group of people to enjoy. Anyone seen this or been on it?

    Pershings:
The larger ones again have a sundeck that just doesn't feel safe to use. Again the sitting on the floor feeling.

    Wally:
looks fantastic but again its full on yoga positions to sit down and have a meal!

From the looks of it the Riva 76 Bahamas has a very nice layout. Are their any others im missing?
I loved the Fjord 48. felt very good but its just not as good looking as the others.

I would appreciate everyones comments and feedback.

Hi, we are about to build this Delta 60 Open now and since we have several ideas on how the deck should be arranged, it would be interesting to hear about your ideal solution..?

    Here is my favorite;

    Hi AMG,

Interesting. My thoughts are that the aft deck looks very good.
you can be properly seated to have a lunch or dinner, where others have a "coffee table you lean into" and where you sit very low.

The foredeck seems unused? thats a shame in my opinion as more sun beds are needed (or it looks that way).
it looks like you only have room for 3 adults to lie down unless you lower the table and make additional sun beds?

BTW. is that a stabilizer i see midships? One annoying point on a phew boats I've looked at is that they are not designed to have a stabiliser so you need to remove one engine or install balast for a very heavy load.
these daybooks are a treat if the have a stabiliser as they are "more open" (DUH) and therefor feels less safe to move around on when bobbing around.

    just my thoughts.

Thanks for your comments! Yes, it is a Seakeeper gyro.

About the foredeck, it can of course have sunbeds, but we don't like to have people there when the boat is running near 40 knots, so we have no fixed arrangement...

It looks good. Iv never been on one but look well made.

Im still waiting on more details on the Riva 56 as it seems they have upgraded the interiors a lot.
Same on the 76 Bahamas. looks a big step up from Virtus.

Why not another Sunseeker? They have a great ride and least problematic systems of the Euro brands. Good build quality aside from gelcoat cracks and are built in your backyard.

as Im getting older I have started to appreciate the craftsmanship a bit more. more classic lines. I think the new predators are very "fuzzy" in design. To over designed for my taste. I liked the sleek look of the 82 a lot. the new ones not so much.

Depends on your budget , why not have a custom build to exactly what you want first to spring to mind is spirit yachts they have a 70 power under build now, I have not seen the drawings http://www.****************/power-yachts/ but the workmanship and style of these yachts is breathtaking.

Riva has a open that converts to a closed express using the front deck lid moved up and rearward using a pantograph mechanism to create the closed bridge , really cool. IIRC it was either 86" 0r 88" Miami ? Someone here knows exactly what model I'm talking about.

Have a look at the new Princess range. The Princess V58 Open is very nice and I believe Princess have a few new larger open models in the pipeline for next year. Pass by their office in central London.

After some research im debating Water 55 or Riva 76 Bahamas. I think the Bahamas is a big step up in terms of deck layout for Riva. Going to explore if there is a demonstrator anywhere to see.

There is one floating around South Florida that I've seen Riva take to all of the boat shows.
