Just an update from this coldspot, snow came yesterday and it is dark at 4 PM... anyone having the sun in sight, post a warming picture!

We had snow a week and a half ago already... but it rained enough to melt what fell. It's annoyingly dark at obscene hours though.

Thanks Carl, the humidity you can keep but the temperature I would like to have here. We actually had subtropical climate a million years ago, or so...

Nice new Avatar you have!

Is a collection of "stock" avatars still in the plan for us?

Kelly, what do you think of using this one?

I have "borrowed" it from the net, but I guess it is without copyright today...

If you like it, just copy and paste it in.

thought you all might like to know that it is 80 degrees here in southern California. No humity, light breeze, and I shot a 36 on a 9-hole course yesterday. Beautiful!

Here it would be the other way around, 36 degrees and an 80 score...

LOL! (pest) Sure, we can do that!

But first, we need to finish up the remainder of YF's graphics and lay-out. There’s a lot more in the works and it’s being squeezed in between a couple dozen new feature stories.

And somewhere in between all of this, I need to take a few days off. I've been burnin' the candle for three years straight and the wick is starting to flicker.

That is a nice one Lars. I know there are a zillion avatars out there on the Web. But think I will wait and see what Carl puts up for us. Of course if Carl already had a mega avatar site in mind ... and were to "assign" someone to go pick out a few dozen for the YachtForums collection ...

company man Kelly

LOL! ... "company man".

Actually, that would be GREAT! I've got about 10,000 yacht images, all of which are good candidates to become avatars, BUT... avatars are personal in nature, an individual expression of sorts and it's hard to find something to suit everyone. Ofcourse, that being said, we can't allow just *any* avatar because a lot of them just aren't appropriate. It would be nice to have an assortment of nautical items to choose from, ranging from anchors to props and everything in between. I started a small collection a few years ago when I was preparing to launch the site, but got "site"-tracked.

Yacht images would be cool. Though the avatars I see on other sites run more toward cartoon characters. I started doodling a 42M design. If I ever get it to where I'm happy with it, will likely use that. However I'm reluctant to use a photo of an actual yacht. Might give the impression the yacht is mine, which would not be the case.
