Washington ferry in high winds

All,

A friend of mine forwarded me some pics that were sent to him of the Washington State ferry M/V Cathlamet. She is 328 feet long and these pics were apparently taken on October 18th when some high winds were moving through the area. Was definitely a rough ride for those unlucky enough to be onboard!

Why did they decide to run service with the sea state like that? That type of ferry is not for that weather, I felt for the people onboard when I saw the pics.

Oh My Gosh!! I'll second that.
We have similar ferries here but at least they have bow doors to prevent all that seawater to come in and jeprodize stability!
