Lars,

I'm not an expert on this. I only look at cars for their lines, and that can just as well be a Seat or a Renault as a Zonda or whatever. A nice line needs to be appreciated - whether it's in a boat or a car. An unfair line gives me a stomac cramp every time I see it (unfortunately it happens all too often on boats).

About Spyker, I thought their speciality was custom cars (one-offs) but their site is not very informative in that respect. I agree with you that there's too much "stuff" on the models that are on their site.

Cheers,

Bruno

Hey AMG, does the older You Tube clip with the Zonda and the Wally 118 count still?

However, i just realised that they pulled the video clip because of something to do with copyright claims by the BBC? I wanted that one with the Zonda supercar so that it would be fitting for the thread however, i will post one with just the Wally 118. This is pretty popular and no doubt has been seen already by many.

Guys,

I've come close to hitting the "move" button about 5 times on this thread. All 5 times have been in the last 30 minutes, but I keep bailing on the idea. The fact that I keep coming back to this tells me something... I don't think the General Discussion forum is the place for this thread.

ALL OF US work very hard to share and convey pertinent information relating to yachts, but when newcomers visit YF and they see a thread of this nature, I don't think it's a good reflection on the quality of our content.

I'm moving this thread because I think it belongs in the Yacht Club forum. I'm almost certain someone may take exception with me on this, but please understand... I'm only trying to make decisions that are best for the community and our continued growth.

I enjoy talking about cars as much as anyone else. But this is a forum about yachts... even if they are in the presence of nice cars. Let's try not to dilute our subjects.

It's been a long day. Turning in and heading back down to the show in the morning. Thanks!

Carl

Got an extra ten minutes to blow? Of course you do!

Take a vicarious lap around the 'Ring with one of Lar's compatriots in an 'everyday driver'.

to whome it may concern:
There are 2 ways of getting a drive around the ring with very experienced drivers: Ring Taxi, Sabine Schmidt (some videos in the "topgear"-section of bbc-international), using an BMW M5 and a newer service with an race-viper as you can find it on the race-game "GTR/GTR²" of simbin. If you want to understand why german cars get more and more hp and we do like it, take a ride if you're near Koeln/Colone. Should be something between 100 and 150 EU.

In the mid eighties I was driving my Porsche Turbo from Stockholm, Sweden to the Genua boatshow in Italy. I was going to stop in Paris for the 6-hour boatrace on Seine as well so I was on a part of the Autobahn I was not so familiar with. At an "umleitung" I found myself in a pile-up of cars on a smaller road and at a T-cross a police-man pointed at my car and said I should go off the main road. I was a little confused but drove on until I suddenly was at the Nürburgring where the locals was invited for a trackday! The F1-circuit was just built and before the first race they probably wanted cars to even out the surface? I am not sure, but I was driving around the circuit for an hour or two with a bunch of other fast and not so fast cars. A nice and unexpected experience!

In Paris the day after, I could see my partner from the Offshore racing circuit, be the overall winner of the 6-hour race, not bad!

Thought it had been deleted. Couldn't find it without a search.

A few pictures to get this thread back on the right track

The first two pictures are of a Ferrari 360 Spyder and the last is a yellow Lamborghini.

Don't want the moderators slitting our throats .

But won't let you down. Something conservative .

The top and bottom pictures are of Ferrari Enzos, the middle is of a Ferrari 360 Modena Spyder.

Nice nice TK, espcially now the shots are with cars and yachts and maybe women(shhh).. gives a bit of both worlds. I saw a smaller yacht there .. it's name was Moon Shine.. i know this name has nothing to do with the light comming from the moon, lol.
TK you have some shots of cool cars and cool yachts too.. the Le Grand Bleu, I spotted the stern of CatWalk.

The clips are quick and short, but if you do some Pausing you can see a lot of yachts thoughout this vid.

Simply amazing to watch these guys drift paved corners with precision. On dirt, one might expect this, but on paved roads... you gotta be good!

Carl, don't forget that all those cars are All Wheel Drive. Drifting an AWD car is even more difficult, even with the adjustability they have in their differentials... (trust me on that).

If ever I get the download of the Monte Carlo event I'll take some screen caps of the yachts they briefly show... it'll be plenty of fodder for the Trivia Puruit thread.

Great video. I like the soundtrack . Thanks for posting it.
It's really cool how the Subaru takes that U-turn @ min. 1:05.
