Hi, Jannick.
You can also use the words ship "baptism" or "christening".

Speaking of new ships....have you all seen the progress being made on the construction of NCL's newest vessel? Its called Norwegian Pearl and it is underconstruction at Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany in the covered building dock #2 hall 6
a link is here-------->http://www.meyerwerft.de/main.asp?what=yard&id=1221

The other ship at the top is the new AIDA diva underconstruction as well.

Mw

In the Top web cam pic of Meyerwerft there are actually 2 Cruise ships under construction, behind the more completed Aidia ( i think the one in foreground is aida) there is another machinery block in a separate subdivision of the dock. Its interesting to see the different equipments and configurations on the two docks, for more or less the same purpose.

In the first picture, the two sets of sections that you are seeing are for one cruiseship, the AIDA diva. The sections closest to us in the picture are built seperate and are supposed to be lift in place on the far side. Well thats how i understood it to work all the time.

5400 people.. hmmmm.
Can't think of a hundred people that I'd want to share a holiday with, let alone 5400.

Yachtlover you post about the cam shot might be a good idea for a new forum section. that is if Carl thinks its a good idea.

Nautical web cams located at waterways,marinas,boat yards and if were real lucky someone may put one onboard so we can travel along.

I was thinking more like... "Attack of the Wedding Cakes!" or "Slab-Sided Tiers Invade Bridgetown! "

i think you don't have to
lets talk about 1.500 people per ship, that's 6.000 tourists trying to invade the island - that's worse than 60.000 soldier *hehehehe*

i was trying to figure out from where the photographs where taken, is it from your home or is it a higher tower?
