...and suddenly my house was shakin..? What the h... happens?

Oh, yes, it is winter again and somebody in our little village have finally understood that the snow will not go away unless they help it. Some years they can wait a week or more, but tonight they reacted already on 6 inches of snow. But the guy must be the same since he put up almost a meter of snow behind all of the parked cars as usual...

actually yes

The boat was rolling very nicely!!!

It was a catch 22, the owner didn't want to pay for the fuel to get us out of here, so we were light on fuel, so we rolled onto the dock, damaging the boat!!! I would have rather spent the money on fuel!!!

I think I was on the phone to my sister at that point (if the phones were still working?) and I was asking her why the hell people live in florida???? Looking at some of these snow pictures I can see one good reason.

Chris! Those 3 photos on page 6 are awesome! And yet the one before shows exactly the type of things you have to go through to experience scenes and sunsets like that! Hats off to you Chris, wish i had your job

Hey Chris, were you able to beach the yacht on that island in your last photo?

no

lol No

But I was in a jet rib when I took the pic. I bet with a run up I could have gone straight across the island and off the other side!!!!!

I'd be interested to know if that island is still there? That was taken two years ago off Petit St Vincent in the grenadines and there has been a few hurricanes pass close, including Ivan.

We are now in December and the days are short, cold and dark here.

Despite this a friend of mine was sailing the Around Gotland Race, trying to break the winter record. I think he did, starting after midnight the 1:st and arrived just after noon today. A windy and wet race against the clock. They forgot the "galley" and had just some cold stuff to eat and drink, sailing with up to fifty knots of wind, often above twenty knots boat speed and with a temperature around the freezing point.

A few mishaps but back safe, they rushed to the sauna... Here is the boat, a trimaran, new this year and it is really something for speed seekers...

Other news today was that Wally launched a new 200 feet sailing boat concept, the Pilgrim project;

Got some crazy pics this morning on the way in to the office... we had about 10" of snowfall overnight, and we're expecting another 6"+ between now and this afternoon. I'll get them out of the camera and uploaded when I get home this afternoon.

Hi Techmati. That's "Olympic Marina" in Lavrion. Don't go there unless you're sinking!!
