On the subject of wheels... here's a link to a messed up Enzo. http://www.jalopnik.com/cars/news/mo...tos-156121.php It happened yesterday (02/21/06) morning. There was a link to some video of one of the local news channels there, but it's down now.

If you think your holiday pictures were good, look at this album from some young Swedes studying in California...

Winter is back...!

After 24 hours of stormy weather the snow arrived last night and this morning my town looked like this. My boat is still in the wet and is probably not happy with me after this storm, have to take her up next week...

Lucky you! I'm still a couple of weeks away from the first accumulations. The ski-hills up north (a half hour from home) got a good bit last weekend, and night time temps are consistently below freezing so they should start making the stuff soon. In the mean time I'm looking forward to a Rally in three weeks that should deliver a weekend with some decent snow coverage.

I've had enough of summer... waiting eagerly for the snow now. Picked some winter tyres last week, ordered them... should be in soon. Next up, shop for some new skis.

The only summer I want to see anymore is a vacation someplace moderately exotic.

Hanseboot and my Winter sport

Hanseboot was here in Hamburg last week, and Instead of clambering around various boats on display I concentrated on buying the kit for my newest hobbie, Kite surfing.

Just in case any of you don't know what a 12m2 Kite looks like I blew the thing up on the weekend to check all the rigging and took a few photos.

I can tell you that getting into the baltic sea in Winter with a wetsuit and a kite this size is not very inviting. Maybe a quick trip to Brazil again!?

The snow disappeared again and I got a nice trip to the winter yard. Drying out the jib before the mast is lifted and the boat will then stay ashore for the coming six long months...

To get some inspiration for the boring job of varnishing and polishing the boat as it is now just about a month before she will go back in the water, I was looking through my pictures from last summer.

This one is a pretty good reminder of how it can be...

Switching back to wheels...

I've been scouring the net for ANY news on the new Dino. I've seen the Cayman/P-Shop renderings, as well as the 430 with missing parts touted as being a Dino test mule. I'm a little curious (concerned) how this might affect the value of my current Fiat in an Italian suit. Have to say, if it looks anything like the sketches I've seen by Vandenbrink design (below), I might be tempted to go deep into debt. Word is, the new Dino will be an “entry level” car. In Italian speak, that means $100k! These are the Vandenbrink renderings I've found of a potential next-gen Dino...

I truthfully can’t afford this, but I love to dream…

How's this for "winter"? That's the height of the snow that runs the length of my parent's driveway. My own house is no better... you can't even see it from the street as of the last snowfall. We're just 12" shy of setting a new record.

Thanks Loren, funny song. We have had a warm winter up to today when we suddenly got a lot of snow..!

When I was driving home tonight, I snapped the bright full moon and then again from my house. It is -7,5° C right now in Stockholm and far north in Nikkaluokta it is -36°, coldest night in Sweden this winter... EDIT, the following night was -41°C...
