Shark Attacks Kills Person at Auckland's Muriwai... | Stuff.co.nz This beach is close to Auckland and a very popular fishing spot for surf casting and kontiki operators - both require you to walk into the water at times. I have caught a few sharks there since Nov, all Bronzies less than 1.2m, one was foul hooked in a pectoral fin. It will be interesting to see what species is responsible for this and how many folks are fishing this weekend.
