The A-Frame schooner rig by Rondal is a very neat setup - can't wait to learn how it will actually perform on the water.

Wanna bet every time they leave the dock it's under power? With the sails up too to show how "green" they are?

Isn't that the way most sailboats are run? It'll conserve fuel getting to where they're going though. Like Robo, I think the setup is pretty cool and also look forward to seeing how it performs.

Well, yeah, could have worded that better. What I should have said is, "Anytime it's away from the dock it will be under power". I suppose there will be times and courses where the sails will help. It just doesn't look like enough sail to do much towards moving the boat.

With her pretty modern hull shape, and 1350 sqm working sails @ 700t displ, she will not win races, but should provide quite reasonable motorsailor performance.
And with the A-frame / all rollerfurling setup, handling should be simple = lots of actual use of sails
