If they build it.

Remember Freedom Ship? There was another one too. I can't remember its name.

It was "The World" from the same guys, which after a long delay became a "mini world"...

This attempt has pretty nice lines though, compared to many cruise ships that looks like container ships...

It reminds me a bit of "Canberra" (P&O ship) mixed with a bit of "Ocean Breeze" in design. Looks cool though.

"The World" was a lovely creation, I remember when she was built. She was a different concept for the cruise industry at the time.

The original "The World" should have been much bigger, 300 meters instead of 200 m, and with much more space both inside and outdoors. But the economy had a downturn so they couldn´t go ahead.

If I can find the sales material I have, I will post some pictures.

- Found it, and the figures were 85,000 gross tonnes, 958 feet long, beam 105 feet, draft 23 feet and with 15 decks. Completion date was planned to the end of 1999, to start a Millennium cruise...

Orion, I think you should place the link concerning "Allure of the Seas" in the Newest cruise ships thread that you created. Just my thinking on it...

The follow up residence ship to "The World" is the "Utopia". She is currently in build in South Korea. I believe this is the first significant Passenger Ship to be built there. See http://www.utopiaresidences.com/resi.../deckplans.php

If you can afford their prices, you can afford your own yacht, so why spend time on a cruiseship and not a proper boat?
