February 25, 2008: DYT completes first voyage to Dubai The specialized handlers of transporting yachts across oceans, DockWise Yacht Transport have recently successfully concluded their first voyage to the Middle East, Dubai.

According to DYT, they conquered the new frontier when they delivered a shipment of pleasure yachts to Jabel Ali, Dubai on the 19th of February. To make the endeavour successful, DYT partnered with BBC Chartering and Logistics and utilized their ship the Lady Gloria.

The Lady Gloria sailed from Port Everglades, Florida via Genoa, Italy on her way to Dubai. Onboard the Lady Gloria, were a diverse set of pleasure yachts. These included a brand new 9.0 M/30 foot Royal Denship limo-styled tender, 105 foot Mangusta and a number of sport fisher-type yachts.

The process was slightly different in getting the yachts on board the BBC Lady Gloria but the professional expertise of the DYT load handlers were present. While the DYT vessels are semi-submersible where they partially sink and the yachts sail on through the aft, on the BBC Lady Gloria, they used the Lift on Lift off (LoLo) method.

March 25, 2008:DYT and The Billfish Foundation: Dockwise Yacht Transport is a unique company that specializes in the transportation of luxury yachts across oceans with their fleet of semi-submersible float on floar off vessels. DYT has now partnered with The Billfish Foundation (TBF) in an effort to help preserve billfish populations around the world.

The Billfish Foundation is the only non-profit organization that caters to this preservation of the fish-type stock. The entire combination of persons range from anglers, captains, clubs to tournament directors and mates as well as the sportsfishing business who are in the Foundation.

According to President of The Billfish Foundation, Ellen Peel, "It is a pleasure to see Dockwise Yacht Transport willing to put such an emphasis on the importance of conservation in the marine industry." The President continued by saying that "they set an example by giving back to the resource, and without the support of businesses like them we could never hope to accomplish our goal of keeping billfish in the water for future generations of anglers to enjoy."

April 10, 2008:Fort Lauderdale, FL: Call it car pooling or yacht pooling, hitching a ride on Dockwise Yacht Transport's (DYT) newest yacht carrier, the Yacht Express is a cool way of safely transporting your multi-million dollar investment.

Yacht Express is a 687.50 foot long specialized and purpose built vessel, designed to carry yachts across the large ocean expanses such as the Atlantic. Yacht Express has a full assortment of yachts onboard to safely transport, in fact she has 18 of them! Combined together, they are worth some 154 million dollars of luxury yachts.

The specialized Yacht Express left Fort Lauderdale on the evening of the 10th of April, steaming for the Med. This voyage represents her first for the Spring season and what a way to start off. Not only are the yachts hitching on a stylish ride but so too are the crew. Yacht Express can be considered a yacht herself. Inside the accommodation block to the fore of the vessel conceals a variety of amenities and spaces that one wouldn't expect to see on a 'cargo ship'.

A trendy lounge bar complete with floor-to-ceiling windows accentuate the stylish repertoire of the vessel. In addition, there is a sizable swimming pool on the roof of the lounge bar! To add more to this vessel's forte, there is also a cinema, restaurant, conference and fitness facilities. "She is built to carry yachts so why not give her a sense of style as well?"

Among her precious cargo is the Broward 121 foot Java and the new Christensen Lady Joy. These two and the other 16 vessels should arrive in the Med in about 8 to 9 days. With a service speed of 18 knots, the Yacht Express cuts the travel time significantly providing a timely luxurious service package. Yacht Express was built by Yantai Raffles shipyard in China and was delivered in 2007.

Here's an exterior view of the overlooking lounge. The top of the lounge is an outside viewing area, lounge area and small pool. The interior accommodations are nicer than earlier Dockwise ships.

April 28, 2008:Fort Lauderdale, FL: Dockwise Yacht Transport (DYT):"Dockwise Yacht Transport will be Carrier of Choice for High-Profile Racing Team...

"The world's leading yacht logistics company with its own fleet of semi-submersible ships, has announced that Rosebud Racing has joined forces with the company to become Rosebud Racing/Team DYT. The Farr-designed Rosebud was launched in June 2007 as the world's first STP65, a "box-rule" collaboration between the Storm Trysail Club and the TransPacific Yacht Club. Owned by Roger Sturgeon of Ft, Lauderdale, Fla., it has set the racing world on fire with its recent performances, including winning the overall IRC handicap title in the famed Rolex Sydney Hobart Race at the end of 2007. In that race, Sturgeon also became the first American in 30 years to take overall regatta honors, joining only two other Americans who can make the same claim: Jim Kilroy (Kialoa III in 1977) and Ted Turner (American Eagle in 1972)."

This latest collaboration has now allowed the Rosebud Racing team to have an indispensable shipping agent to ferry their race boats around the globe. In Sturgeons' words, "There is no better way to get to our far-off race destinations than using the Dockwise Yacht Transport service. The company has a magnificent staff of service managers and loading masters to help us with scheduling and, most important, the safe transport of our yacht."

According to Dockwise Yacht Transport President Clemens van der Werf, "Rosebud Racing/Team DYT is the perfect ambassador for the segment of our personalized customer service that devotes itself to getting race boats to their regattas around the world." The President continued on to say..."For instance, the DYT voyage scheduled in August from Newport, R.I. to Sardinia, Italy, will get Rosebud and other racing yachts to the Mediterranean in time for the racing season there."

Sporting the DYT colors..."Rosebud will sport its new Team DYT sail and hull graphics when it competes in New England this summer at Block Island Race, the New York Yacht Club Annual Regatta presented by Rolex, the Newport to Bermuda Race (which was won by Sturgeon's previous Rosebud, a TP52, in 2004), the Edgartown Yacht Club Round the Island Race, and the New York Yacht Club Race Week at Newport presented by Rolex. After it crosses the Atlantic with DYT's help, it will compete in the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup (Sardinia, Italy) in September and the Rolex Middle Sea Races (Malta) in October, before heading back with other sailboats on a DYT ship to Ft. Lauderdale at the end of October."

A designer of computer software and a member of Lauderdale Yacht Club as well as Hyannis Yacht Club in Massachusetts, Sturgeon is joined on the crew of Rosebud Racing/Team DYT by his wife Isobel and noteworthy international sailors.
