Neither do I ; it will be discussed earlier perhaps, but to me the arguments are : the hangar close to crew quarters , the platform in sight of the wheelhouse during heli operations , the hangar in the part of the yacht where motion at sea is maximum (so you don't plan cabins over there!) and all the fuzz out of the way, not disturbing guests on board. And how about a heli approach to the aft deck in harbour where you have moored the yacht stern-to ?? Now, these are the pros seen from a sailors' point of view. I don't know how helicopter pilots think of this ??
I go with you in suggesting the topdeck structure to be shortened. This creates a sundeck behind the wheelhouse (with large spa like on Floridian (ex-Aussie Rules)??) and one on top of the wheelhouse (like...eh....Northern Star ??).
