"Chianti" - 164' Tri-Deck Expedition Yacht

Chianti is intended to be a 50 m/164 feet displacement yacht. She could be built with a steel hull including main deck and with composite superstructure for strength and good weight distribution. In addition to fin stabilisers she could have a stabilising tank system built in just in front of the bridge for comfort at anchor.

Deck Plan #1. Seen from above, Chianti has a moonroof built into the flybridge hardtop. Each aft deck offers views to the decks below. On the foredeck is a crew tender with a crane. In addition, a sunpad is incorporated into the main deck fore structure, as well as a crescent shaped seating area conducive to conversing.

There is a stairway surrounding an elevator through all four decks, ending in the BBQ and jacuzzi area on the top deck, where the fixed roof is equipped with an operating moonroof.

Deck Plan #2. The raised pilothouse deck. The Captains cabin is up behind the bridge as well as a plotting room where the ships manuals and drawings shares space with the communication and entertainment computers.

The outdoor dining area on the bridge deck can be accessed via two stairways from the main aft deck. Inside is a lounge with library and forward is the bridge with a raised sofa group for viewing underway. Wing stations with good views and communications both forward and aft makes docking an easy operation with the occassional support of the bow thruster.

Deck Plan #3. The main deck. Main deck entrance is from starboard midships with a self service waiting bar, powder room and the owners suite forward. This is made as a loft of nearly 1.000 sq-feet where the sleeping area is behind a remote controlled curtain to give a "room in the room". From the dressing room is an emergency door to the foredeck which can also be used for private access to the sunpads.

Aft on main deck is the salon and dining area, separated by an entertainment island and the half circle glasswall can be opened to the deck.

Deck Plan #4. Below deck accomodations and engine room lay-out. Two 1.600 hp main engines will provide 12-14 knots cruising speed and transatlantic range. There will be three gensets with one positioned in the aft lazarette for extra safety in case of fire or flooding in the engine room. In the aft garage is a RIB tender with waterjet and storage for two wave riders.

The yacht is layed out to offer privacy and separation between owners, guests and crew. To be easy to maintain and run by a crew of 8-10 people, the four guest suites below are connected to the crew area for easy maintenance. Crew entrance is to the port on main deck and here is the main galley with a dumb waiter going all the way to the top deck. Down below is six crew cabins for up to twelve, which gives flexibility and space for private staff as well. The crew has also direct access to the fore deck and further below is a chilled garbage locker. The crew has their own mess and here is also the fridge and freeze rooms next to the laundry.
