Pretty nice.
What information did you have to start this rendering? (or did you do the actual designing?)
How many hours go int renderings like these?
I'm trying to get an idea of what a rendering like these would cost (with or without the design work).

Great work.

Your attached images are also types of work I have been talking about lately in another thread regarding 3D design and photo realism.

Images 1 and 2 (from the top down) seem to be 100% 3D work. The last two may be a combination 3D and real landscape and sky photos? Photoshop?

Anyways, would you care to share with this forum what software (3D software packages with what renderer) you guys use to achieve the results you have displayed above? And on that note - how big are the image files, how long did they take to design, how long to render, and perhaps what kind of computer hardware set-up do you use to achieve it all with? Would love to learn about your experiences regarding all this.

Look forward to seeing more of your excellent renderings.

Little info about this project:
The 3D model of the yacht was supplied by our customer (a yacht designer), they design and build the complete model of the yacht. We create all the materials and textures, add aditional model like search lights, furniture, chairs, sunbeds en pillows and create the enviroment. We work in 3DS Max and render with vray.

The top 2 images are indeed complete 3d image and the botom 2 are renderd and placed in photographs in photoshop.

Hi Sander and welcome to YF,

I have reduced the size of your images to 640 pixels. In the future please, please keep image sizes within our guidelines. While you may be on a 21" screen or larger, many of our members are on sub-21's, such as laptops, which will cause side scrolling. A pain with touch pads!

BTW, the model of the Vicem 46m was on display at Miami Show. I got some preliminary info on the boat prior to touring the 92' in preparation of a review. As it's the first composite build for the yard, it's quite an undertaking.

Your renderings truly bring it to life. Nice work!

It is indeed the first composite build for them and quite a undertaking! We made the images for the unvailing at the Monaco yacht show in 2008. The are planning to have the first complete yacht ready for the Monaco yachtshow 2010, i hope the make it. Would be very nice to see it and walk on the actual yacht!
