2 New Builds: OCEA Commuter 108'

OCEA has Two New Commuters Under Construction

The OCEA Commuter 108 is a motor-yacht proposed on a semi-custom basis, designed by the naval architect office JOUBERT-NIVELT, and built by OCEA shipyard.

The general arrangement plans of the two OCEA Commuter 108 currently under construction show numerous differences in comparison to the plan of M/Y ABELY WHEELER, first one of the series. The naval architect has studied these modifications in order to suit the specific requests of the future yacht owners. Although programmed to navigate mainly in the Mediterranean Sea, these two yachts are well thought-out like M/Y ABELY WHEELER for round the world navigations.

OCEA Commuter 108 - N°2: (delivery date: April 2007)

- The tenders’ area has been moved from the upper deck to the fore deck. This modification allows freeing completely the sun deck while lowering the centre of gravity of the vessel. No built-in deck furniture is expected on this deck.
- Two holders for the fitting of a removable carbon crane are located on both sides of the sun deck. This removable crane will be used for taking the tenders onboard up to the sun deck in preparation of oceanic crossings. The tender chokes are removable.
- One unique and large forward double guest cabin replaces the two forward cabins, lowering to 4 the total number of guest cabins, and to 8 the total number of guests.
- The motorisation is of less power (2 engines Caterpillar C18 rating B 479 bhp each), and will give a maximum speed of 14,5 knots.

OCEA Commuter 108 - N°3: (delivery date: July 2007)

- The wheelhouse has been extended in order to enclose a panoramic salon flanked by three full height windows on both sides. The location plus the windows of this salon will allow to fully enjoying the immediate environment of the yacht while comfortably seated inside.
- The transom rotates and becomes a large bathing platform when in the horizontal position. The access to this platform is easy and well protected.
- The tenders are located on the fore deck freeing totally the sun deck. Built-in deck furniture (sofas – tables – Jacuzzi) will organise the available space.
- The Owner’s quarters are more spacious due to the additional space gained by moving forward the access stairs to the forward cabins (this is possible due to the lengthening of the wheelhouse). Large windows have replaced the hull portholes of the Owner’s cabin. The disposition and number of guest cabins are unchanged: 10 guests in 5 double cabins.
- The motorisation is more powerful (2 engines Caterpillar C18 rating D 873 bhp each), and will bring the maximum speed to 18,0 knots.
