A finned design on the Boater's Dream transom anode provides a greater sacrificial mass and surface area than traditional products. Its aluminum/Indium alloy composition delivers 2-1/2 times the life of a comparable zinc anode at only 75% of the weight. This alloy works superbly in fresh, brackish or saltwater. It offers superior protection to zinc anodes in freshwater applications, since it self-cleans. Zinc anodes form a coating within a few months in freshwater applications that can prevent them from working properly.
Performance Metals' patented wear indicator is located in the center fin of the Boater's Dream. When the anode wears away to the point of needing replacement, a red dot appears. Owners easily know when it's time to change the anode, before it stops working and harmful corrosion sets in on their craft.
