British Columbia Yacht Building Assoc. Formed...

Yacht Building Industry in British Columbia Forms Association, Launches New Web Site...

The British Columbia Yacht Building Association – BC Yachts for short – was formed in 2003 to represent more than 50 BC-based companies involved in the design, construction, refit and repair of yachts, and in manufacturing and distributing materials and equipment to the industry.

The association’s mandate is to promote British Columbia’s vibrant, well-established yacht design and manufacturing industry on the world stage. With a maritime history deeply rooted in fishing, logging and exploration along a rugged and beautiful coastline, British Columbia is home to a world-class yacht building industry. BC Yachts proudly represents the designers, manufacturers and suppliers who work in partnership to design and build yachts of the finest quality and craftsmanship.

For the past two years BC Yachts has hosted an exhibit at the annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, North America’s largest boat show, and one of the top marine exhibitions in the world. “At this year’s show, BC Yachts’ expanded exhibit will be more exciting than ever with stunning rich media presentations, representatives from many of the association’s member companies, and participation in a Canada reception hosted by the Canadian Consulate in Miami”, said BC Yachts’ president, Drew Irwin. BC Yacht’s booth, # 360, can be found during the show in the International Pavilion at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center.

BC Yachts is pleased to announce the launch of its newly redesigned web site, britishcolumbiayachts.com. The site, featuring presentations in rich media as well as photos, information and links to member company’s sites, will be of interest to those who are considering designing and building a new yacht, or in refitting, refurbishing or servicing an existing yacht, and to anyone with an appreciation for the beauty and grace of well-designed, finely crafted yachts.

BC Yachts is grateful for the assistance of Western Economic Diversification Canada, and the Canadian Consulate in Miami.
