New Hakvoort 38m "Perle Bleue"

New order for 38 meter motor yacht at Hakvoort...

Hakvoort Shipyard in the Netherlands has announced the order for a new motor yacht - Perle Bleue. This 38-meter twin screw ocean going motor yacht has the ideal length and layout for chartering, carrying 10 guests including the owners, and offering accommodation for a captain and six crew members. The yacht will be built to Lloyds Register classification and MCA rules.

The Campbell Bay 2002 has been sold and renamed Cracker Bay. The Campbell Bay’s owners were very satisfied with the highly experienced Hakvoort Shipyard workforce and therefore decided to return for a follow-up yacht named Perle Bleue. The Perle Bleue has been designed by Donald Starkey Designs, with an interior in a traditional wood panelling style. Naval architecture is to be carried out by Diana Yacht Design.

The cabin deck will feature three double guest cabins, each with bathrooms, one of which has Pullman bunks. Three double crew cabins and the captains cabin also have their own bathroom, and the cabin deck also contains a dedicated laundry. To aft is a fixed swimming platform, recessed into the stern.

The main deck will have the owners suite including a study and bathroom and a full-beam master stateroom with saloon and dining area, seating area on the aft deck and owners suite with bathroom. The bridge deck will have a beachhouse-type lounge and a large open seating area on the aft deck. The sun deck will feature a bar, sink, Jacuzzi and sun beds.

Located aft, the engine room houses twin Caterpillar C18 Mki diesels, which will offer a comfortable cruising speed of 11,5 knots and a top speed of approximately 13 knots.

Delivery is planned for early 2007 and the Perle Bleue will then head for Florida and the Caribbean.
