    News is that a 50-meter Sea Axe by Damen/Amels is now listed for sale through SuperYachtsMonaco. This is "Umbra" that I am speaking about.

    "Garcon", the first Sea Axe 67-meter hull 6711, should launch sometime soon I am not sure when but based on the fact that she is slated to attend the 2012 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) which is in September I would assume she will launch late July into August maybe?

    I've been told, reliably that "Garcon" may arrive at the Flushing based Damen yard from the Gorinchem yard for trials on the 7th and 8th August.

    I think I prefer the version you posted in July. Is it the blue stripe? Or the pilot house? Or just the angle?

    The differences are in the design and size. Garcon is the 67 meter version with a much different deck design and carrying capacity than the smaller 37 and 50 meter models. The Amels site gives greater detail.

    I agree, and it is the blue stripe. Also the wheelhouse does not have the black trim as the rendering.

    Another thing I am surprised to see is the bow wave they seems to create, like Umbra in the first post and here Garçon;

    You know, I really do like these vessels, but I think what is missing is a proper garage to store the tenders (especially if you have a full time helicopter) as opposed to leaving them exposed to the elements....maybe that I why I like the YES! ships a good deal more...just my opinion of course :D

    Cheers,

    I am sure lots of people will not agree with you! Nothing against YES! but if the yacht carrying the helicopter doesn't have a garage, in fact hardly any of the yachts that have helicopters and pads to carry them, have garages. "Eclipse", "Serene", "EcstaSEA", "Bart Roberts" had one and one or two others. However, most have them out in the open. Funny enough, "Luna" is the toy carrier/yacht support and Eclipse is the one with the garage for the heli!

    The second FYS from Damen/Amels has been launched as most of you know dubbed "6711" and painted grey much like the superyacht "Skat". This support yacht has been out on sea trials and was reportedly doing 30-knots.

    Okay so I was alerted that the above AIS photo is not the correct thing for 6711. Apparently either a bug in the system or just pure trickery. Thanks to the person that corrected me, you know who you are.

    I was coming up the inside passage from Seattle and passed Oberon doing about 25 knots, it was really a sight to see a boat of that size come flying past, didn't have my phone on me at the time so I couldn't snap any pictures but what an impressive yacht!

    Here is "Umbra" she just came out of a major refit. Now she is all painted over in a very familiar looking scheme. This exists on an explorer type yacht already. She also has a large helipad now, takes away from her look to me though.

    Welcome to YF Earl... glad you like the videos. I suppose you did not see the launching of their latest Fast support vessel called "Game Changer" it recently launched... it is a 70-meter variant of that line from Damen/Amels. I believe she is the 4th hull . Here is a quick timelapse.
