Engineer wages

I was curious as to what you engineers are seeing out there in the way of pay on these 150 footer size yachts. Recently I been hearing that 10 to 9 thousand per month has been the normal for properly experienced lic. engineers for that size. Can any one coment on that out there?

Wages

I have for example the following offers in the moment.
1st. Eng 100m MY 8000 $ 2on 1 off 12 month paid
2nd Eng 90m MY 7500 $ 3 on 1 off retention on leave 1000 $
3rd Eng 90m MY 6000 $ 3 on 1 off "
Engineer 36m MY 5000 € only private use

So you are right. The salarys increase in the moment for certified Engineers.

Also in the 100m Range with more than 9000 kw I placed one for 9000 Euro
thats around 11200 $ 1 on 1 off 12 month paid.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Alex

Wow
Thank you for sharing that. I would not mind hearing of more stories if you have them.

Yeah the jobs we have going at the moment are all in the same region for similar sized vessels (80-120m). Good rotation is still scarce (especially under the 70m mark) but it is becoming more common.

I would say $10k a month on a 50m is the exception to the rule and although I do hear from a lot of engineers who "know there are better jobs then the $7-9k ones" they aren’t as common as people think and while there is still a big demand for Class 1 and Class 2 engineers there is still a point where owners and management companies will say its just too much.

I know some engineers that are on very good salaries but the thing to remember is they didn’t start off this way and they only have them because they have proven themselves. People often forget that when they are speaking to someone who is on $10-14k a month that they have usually been there for a good period of time.
