hi all,

i recently attended an information night on the super yacht industry and i must say it's very interesting indeed

at current im a dive instructor that is physically fit with a good attitude that's willing to put in the hard yards and work hard, but my question is: is it really that "easy" to get started in the industry?

alot of these agencies appear to make finding work sound very easy with the catch being you sign up for their courses and spend 1000's of dollars....

i know that the stcw95 is mandatory, but what would honest recommendations be for someone looking to get into the industry and work up the ladder in the long term towards a first mate position?

Do your Dive stint in CI. Get as much boating experience as you can.

Get your STCW 95

Send your CV to Crew Agencies.

There are yachts out there looking for Dive Instructirs so you might strike it lucky pretty quickly
