Another Simon Sez horror story

I see on another yacht news website that Simon Sez has burned yet another captain. This time, this one lasted 48 hours and was threatened when he quit. The boat is behind the owner's MB house and I know for a fact that he has at least 5 hidden cameras onboard so he can spy on the captain from his home/office. Very strange dude and the boat is always advertising for captains. Even the current offer of $90K (which I am sure is bogus when it comes time to cash the check) is not enough to put up with this guy's abuse.

Remeber the rule:

Never work on a yacht that is named after the wife and never work on a yacht parked in the guy's backyard.

You can read the current incident on dockwalk.com, job classified section.

DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!

Careful what you read on Dockwalk, as the website is not updated in all areas, and some of the sections/features are old. I did find that post you mentioned and keep in mind, even though the marine biz is a somewhat tight industry, others outside it can and do see postings like that and may/can construe them the wrong way. That captain is entitled to his opinion and I do think we need to help each other watch for the not-so-favorable positions, but be careful how you say it.

Cool Thank you

Thank you Captain Politically Correct.

I've been on the boat/met the owner. Have you?

Aero,
Wasn't trying to be sarcastic, so don't know why that tone in response. I never met the guy, never said I did. But there have been cases where people spouted off on the internet thinking they had the first amendment of free speech, only to find a defamation lawsuit at their door. And if he is "shady" (take a look at his website, selling diet pills and other things), those are the ones who will sue first and ask questions later.
BTW, I try to be PC because it saves a lot of heartache and BS down the line.
Also, I am in a position to spout off about someone who did me wrong financially, but my lawyer told me not to, so I speak from some experience.
And if this is the Simon Sez from Miami, the "tube", you couldn't pay me enough to take the wheel.

I had worked for captains in the past that were talking smack about the owners. All though they never lied in what they said, it was quite surprising on how word got back to the owner. It was also quite embarrassing for those captains when confronted. This industry can be micro scopic at times.

It's not all about 'Big Brother' watching you anymore as everyone has the ability.
Your Boss whoever and wherever they maybe, has the facility to do this now. This can make a crew uncomfortable and nervous as 'Sugar Daddy is peering over yur shoulder'.

A nervous jittery crew is not good!!
If this guy monitors the crew like this, he is not a trusting chappy and may not be the best employer!!

Trust is everything, until they run your yacht aground
