Westship 33.5-meter and 40-meter megayacht designs
Not one but two new designs surface from the 'resurrected' yacht company. Designs for a Westship 33.5-meter and 40-meter are now being showcased. WESTSHIP World Yachts is introducing a totally new series of megayachts including state-of-the-art 40 Meter (131’) Tri-Deck designed by the award winning designer Evan K. Marshall and Giovanni & Guiseppe Arrabito of the prestigious naval architecture firm of Arrabito Naval Architect. All designs, engineering and production molds are in place to commence production and WESTSHIP World Yachts will market yachts on a select, allocation basis of two to three yachts per year for 2012 and 2013.
A quick look at the statistics for the 40-meter indicates a width of 7.46-meters, draft of 1.98-meters, a top speed of 25-knots using twin MTU 16V 2000 engines, 22-knots cruising speed (without stabilizers in use), range of 1,500 nautical miles at approximately 10-knots and 600-nautical miles at 23-knots.
The 33.5-meter boat has a beam of 25.3-feet, maximum speed of 25-knots, cruising in the region of 18.5-knots, a range of 500+ miles and room for guests in four staterooms. After selling his oil refining company to Kinder Morgan, Inc., the fourth largest company in the energy industry, Mr. Respess contracted Westship World Yachts to manufacture his personal 110’ "Prestige Lady".
Mr. Respess has now elected to expand operations and sales for the 2012 season. Operations and manufacturing will continue in Tampa, Florida. He has assembled a talented and experienced team of operations and manufacturing personnel positioned to execute a plan to steadily offer a select product line of Westship World Yachts ranging in size from 105’ to 40 Meters (131’).
