I love the Wally wallpapers, but they seriously need to think about some new resolutions. I mean, 640x480?!? Does anyone still use that? My PDA has 640x480 resolution. My home screen is 1280x1024... and I just ordered a brand new 22" wide.... the default res is 1680x1050 on that, but wally has nothing close I'm sure.

LOL! 640X 480 was the standard one time. It works well with the smaller width PC screens, with the newer WIDER screens i guess you will have a very large border around the pic of just the pic will be stretched to such a degree that i would be unrecognizable.

I guess this too would be in the form of an update. The nice people at Wally have put up a more extensive write-up of the new Wally Island Concept. http://www.wally.com/jumpCh.asp?idChannel=26&idNews=475&idLang=IT&attiv o=9&idUser=0

I have managed to extract some high-res pics from the wally site, and still have them saved on another computer which, sadly I can't get to right now.

In the Press Collection you can download articles from magazine reviews. Some of these have high res pics. If you have to much spare time you can grab the pics from the pdf, which are often in two parts because of a two page spread, rejoin them and end up with some unique high res pics.
It was a rainy day.

Anyone else think the redesigned 70 looks much better?

April 2007 pc Wallpapers

Wally pc wallpapers are out for the month of April. Although they do not look very new to me.. looks like a combination of wallpapers from previous months. Anyhow, here it is:

Wallysail Bulwarks 2006

Over the years, Wally has developed some nice and interesting R&D and some that is just indigenous to the sailing world of yachts. Remember those flush fitting skylights and windows on the deck from 1991 and what about those anchoring systems that no one ever seems to know about from 1994?

Well it has been 2 years since their latest 'innovation' in 2004 which was the revolutionary skylight that appeared on the Wallypower 118 and then on many of these sailing vessels particularly like on the s/y Tango. Such as what is seen here: http://www.wally.com/jumpCh.asp?idChannel=36&idLang=IT&idProd=94&attivo =1-1&idUser=0

However, for 2006, Wally has incorporated solid bulwarks to their sailing vessel. You were probably accustomed to seeing the metal stainless steel rods and the tensioned wires running through them. Well it has gone to soldid bulwarks on some of their vessels such as on the Wally 143 known as the s/y Esense-- bulwarks, no wired tensioned railings here.
http://www.wally.com/jumpCh.asp?idUser=0&idChannel=38&idLang=IT&idProd= 95&attivo=1-2-1

So then, here is a link to their R&D page with the 'innovative' bulwarks...
http://www.wally.com/jumpch.asp?idCh...ser=0&attivo=8
It will probably be a next year or two before we see another 'innovation.'

Wally's

More sailing news from the Wally manufacturer. Four Wally sailers did well in the Portofino Spring Regatta. Magic Carpet, J One, Open Season and the brand new Y3K. Remember the Y3K was recently delivered to her owners just a few weeks ago and was able to perform in her first 'real' event.

May Wallpapers

For those people out there who just can't get enough of those Wally computer wallpapers, the month of May is out, well since the begining but i only now got around to seeing them. Nothing really new just a matter of mix and matching what they already have.

You can see them here: http://www.wally.com/JumpCh.asp?idUser=0&idChannel=116&attivo=7&wpType= 2007_05_01
