This seems to be the trend that is continuing and without a doubt i raise my hat to those keeping these classic beauties afloat and running.

However, there has been a classic vessel that seems to have now emerged. I am not sure if we have been hearing much about this yacht. She was recently put on charter for this year at a whopping $560,000. The Vessel i am referring to is called Nero!

The Nero, is 90M long, about 295 feet and 39 feet wide. A cruise speed of 17 knots will assure timely arrivals at destinations. Built by Corsair Yachts in China and has a capacity to carry 12 guests in comfort and utmost lavishness and opulence. What i am not too sure about is if she is a newbuild or if she is a classic that has been refitted.

She has an array of Tenders including a 31 foot long custom cabbie tender, a 26 foot custom, as well as a 16 foot long RIB(Rigid Hull Inflatable). State Of the Art communications and Navigation equipment ensure safe and enjoyable passages.

The classic craze continues...
I see Grand Harbour Marina Malta was graced by two classics this morning. Atlantide who has been with us for a couple of days now but is a regular and Fair Lady who spent just a few hours. Talitha has also been a recent visitor but photographs of her are too big to download on this site. Here are Atlantide and Fair Lady though

I should have heeded the warnings and stayed away from the auction site link.

Did someone get a new plaything, or did you just waste a lot of time?

I know the feeling. That happens to me when new reviews come out too.

Auction

Carl,

If there is something you would like for your "Personal" collection - let me know. I would be more than happy to submit a bid for you. I am heading out here on Thursday night for the Friday preview and the Saturday auction. There are a few boats that I will be bidding on as well as some for customers.

I will take some pictures of the auction (If Dana permits me to) and upload them to YF.

Hi Aaron,

I would love to have a woody, but I'm not in the position to buy anything right now. I'm two boats poor already! If you go, please take a camera and let the rest of us live vicariously through your bids.

Thanks!

Auction

Will do Carl. I have my eye on 6 boats currently. We will see what happens at the Auction. There will be a ton of "Woodchucks" I am sure.

Thanks Aaron, I've just drooled on my keyboard.

Anyone got a tissue?

Can you let us know how much the 2 Rolls-Royce Meteor V12s go for? Could be the makings of an interesting Flatsboat project.

I will be documenting the price of everything that sells. That data will be so valuable in my line of work. I will post a detailed assessment after the auction. I'm like a little kid in a candy store right now. The anticipation of this deal is causing me to lose sleep at night!

Just in case you are not sure what a V12 may be like in a wooden boat, check this one out.

The Auction......

The auction was good. It was nice to see all of these boats in one place. There were a lot of boats that sold over market value and a ton that sold under market value. I was able to acquire most of what I went for.

My purchases were:

1990 Hacker 25' Lockman Racer with Tri-Power Ford 427 Torpedo Stern
1948 Sudlow 14' Hydroplane with Ford/Offenhauser flathead V-8 engine
(2) 1957 Chris Craft 18' Sea Skiff
