Van Dam Wood Craft

These guys give Mayea Boat Works a run for their money (customers' money that is). In any case, they have certainly secured their spot in the wooden boat pantheon of stars - through good works, eh?
Here's some proof - "Geronimo" -- a 38 foot open "Torpedo".
Did I mention that THEY built "Alpha Z"? http://www.vandamwoodcraft.com/frame...ntindexmm.html

She's beautiful. Van Dam built Alpha-Z prior to this, and AZ is perhaps the ultimate in wooden yacht craftsmanship. I'm sure they have photos on their site.

I have it on good authority that the four seats in A-Z cost well over $100,000 in 1999 dollars.

Yes, a real beauty. Another interesting trivia is that the full length layer of mahogany planks is said to come from piano maker Steinway & Sons...

In one of the rags, can't remember which one, a broker was advertising that the A-Z would be at the Palm Beach show. I was looking forward to seeing the boat, but if it was at the show... I somehow missed it.

She's a 71' custom build by Admiral Marine. Her name escapes me at the moment though.

..., on the British Empire. Something to do with the fare served on board Her Majesty's Ships, no doubt.
