A product of the famed Leek brothers, Pacemakers gave Chris-Craft a good run for their money for many, many years. After shifting over to GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic - fiberglass) in the early 70s, they then became the well-known Ocean Yachts. I have been told the the 501 chris craft circa 1989 is built the pacemaker hull design--what is soo good about that hull design?

Could very well be. Know for a fact that CC bought Uniflite molds for its 42" MY in 1984 - continued to make this popular model as the Catalina 42 for at least 6 more years (can you spot the difference?). Quite a comfortable boat if you don't mind 4 level living and a foyer (central salon).

Think also Pacemaker utilized (licensed/eventually bought?) Uniflite's mold for its 46' Motoryacht - or was that vice versa. In any case, the 46 footer offered a alot more accomodations with only 3 levels of stairs.
