In Moscow, Russia, the second Timmerman 40M motor yacht came together, literally. The hull and the superstructure were mated for the first time and made one permanently.

The hull was made from steel and the superstructure, aluminum in the general way for optimum balance once she hits the water. The proceedure was done using cranes to maneuver the aluminum superstructure inline with the steel hull.

This proceedure is usually a very delicate one and can not be rushed. In an industry where million dollar yachts are the norm, the lifting process is taken very carefully and seriously.

This Timmerman 40M, once finished will have a maximum speed of 12.5 knots. A cruising speed of 10.5 knots is expected and an enormous range of 4,000 NM.

Accomodation wise, the Timmerman 40M will house 10 guests. These 10 guests can be spaced in 5 cabins, 2 persons per cabin. A crew of 7 will service the yacht and the guests and be accomodated in 4 cabins below deck.

Finally, this particular model will be constructed to match the stipulations of
Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and the MCA. The hull of this vessel has already been coated but she is still a while off from launching.

March 25, 2008:Timmerman Yard RU :The hull and superstructure of the 4th unit in the 40M Timmerman model has been joined together. However there was something special about this fusion of aluminum superstructure and steel hull.

According to Timmerman, all the connections in the past were made outside on yards slip. With this unit, they utilized the bridge cranes in the building shed to mate the superstucture with the hull. This was the first time it has been done for them and the process has been seen as a time-saver.

There was clearly little room for error especially in a confined area. "Thanks to professional skills of yard’s specialists the superstructure was installed on yacht’s hull with 1 mm tolerance."

The first Timmerman 40 M Russian yacht has been officially launched according to the yard. "On 25th of April 2008 at Timmerman Yachts yard unique and great event took place. In solemn atmosphere in the presence of owner’s representatives and head of Consortium the first oceanic super yacht in the framework of Timmerman 40 was launched."

"Timmerman 40 is actually custom-made. According to the customer’s requirements 50 principal changes in the construction and systems were made to the project. As a result the most comfortable yacht of its size with gross tonnage of 400 tons was created to life. Ship’s hull is painted to noble light grey color with whitened teak cap rails. There are some unique for the yacht of this size arrangements and one of these is sundeck. Interior and decks arrangement design was done by famous Dutch studio Rene van der Velden, decoration was created by Cannes Larvor Interior Designers."

"Timmerman 40 has all the necessary conditions for enjoying the sea and the sun. Technical features make it crossing the oceans. The yacht is able to cross the Atlantic at the speed 12,5 knots, the operating range is 4000 nautical miles. Four-decks vessel can accommodate 10-12 persons in 5 cabins, four cabins are provided for eight crew members. Timmerman 40 is built under supervision of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and completely corresponds to MCA requirements. Timmerman 40 will go under Caiman islands flag. The yacht will be presented at Monaco Yacht Show 2008."
