The last I saw her, she was re-named "Commodore" and was afloat at Bay Bridge Marina, Kent Island, MD. That was a few years back. She may now be in Virginia getting some work done, but I'm not certain of that. I do believe that she is still with us.

Any news on "Valor"? I'm still hoping to hear that someone is fixing her. Anyone near Brewers that can provide an update on her current whereabouts and condition?

I found this thread by googling "trumpy Valor" after seeing here on the hard here at Brewer Stamford West where i am till tomorrow...
sadly she's still there, in the very same condition shown above. what a sad sight... i really hope someone can salvage here and restore her, although it will be a major rebuilt, not a restoration. I poked my head thru the hole, what a mess.
even the topsides have suffered serious damage. I couldn't even bring myself to take pictures...
I guess the fact that someone is still paying for storage means there is hope.

| Saddest thing ever
I saw this video of a 1946 Mathis Trumpy being demolished... about the saddest video I have ever seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NV1ArAXXiY
The yacht was most recently known as "Silver Swan", but many who spent time in the Virgin Islands in the 80's will remember here as "Capricorn Lady", ran as a charter boat by Dan and Judi Gilman based out of Nanny Cay, Tortola. She was always kept immaculately, and the Gilman's earned a well-deserved reputation for providing their guests with a top notch charter vacation experience.
"Capricorn Lady" was the first Trumpy I ever saw up close and personal, and it was love at first sight... I have had a soft spot in my heart for Trumpy's ever since.

Hi,
This was posted somewhere else on YF a week or so back.
A great shame to see all that craftsmanship destroyed in such a manner.

| Valor update
Valor is still on the hard at Brewer West in Stamford CT. I walked by her a little while ago. She was moved since last year but seems to be in worst shape. Part of the house (port) seem to be missing now with damage to the roof.
heartbreaking.
here are a few phone pics, i'll be here till sunday, it can take better pics with a camera if anyone is interested.

Carl,
I think Yacht Forums needs a floating home base. This would make an interesting project. I'm sure there is enough talent from all of us that participate here to bring her back to life. Interior people, mechanics, a/c, wood and paint speacialist. Just a crazy thought.

She's really a mess. I see someone got her Trumpy scrolls off the bow. The hardtop and cabin damage, I believe, occurred during the salvage. Such a shame. Thanks for the update Pascal.

I like the idea of a joint YF project, but this would be a full time job.

Once the boat makes it to South Florida, it can be worked on after hours, or Saturday for a few hours at a time. Before you know it, someone will be breaking a bottle of bubbly on her new life. M/V Pheonix. Carl, you go to love the idea!!

Getting that boat to Florida would be a monumental task.

just took these pictures of Freedom a few minutes ago as she arrived and anchored behind me at Atlantic Highlands. needless to say, I dropped the hose, grabbed the camera and just oogled...
i've seen her a few times around the NE during the summer... always a treat to watch her pass by.

| "Valor" update
Unfortunately, I am the bearer of bad news with regards to "Valor". "Valor" is scheduled to be destroyed and disposed of this winter if she cannot be sold in whole or part and removed from the property. At this point she may be beyond restoration herself, but I was wondering if anyone in the Trumpy restoration business might be interested in some of the planking/decking or frames, etc. Please contact me with any questions: Andrew Spaulding T: 203-359-4500, E: aspaulding@byy.com.
