Trinity takes an early lead...

John Dane (aft) and Austin Sperry take the lead in the first race of the day at the Rolex Miami OCR. From big boats to blow boats, John's serious about seat time on the water... and getting the same wet!

This is Star-boats or -boxes... Since they are keel boats and not self-draining, they sink if you are not sailing them upright...
Also, the low position of the boom ask you for a helmet..! Scary, but fun to sail!

This is the team I follow they are tied for first place after 6 races. They race Yngling and won this race last year.

Team 7 is the favorite to represent the US at the next Olympics, based on rankings and performance at the end of 2006. And it is an international favorite to win a medal.

One of the sailors, Carrie Howe is from here in Grosse Pointe, MI

Check out their website, they are looking for sponsors big and small.

2. Afonso Domingos/ Bernardo Santos (POR), 1-11-1-[17]-2-1, 16
3. John Dane/Austin Sperry (Gulfport, Miss., USA), 1-3-[21]-8-3-3, 18

Trinity Yachts at 2008 Olympiad

Dane and Sperry went on to win the U.S. Olympic trials. After almost 40 years of trying, John Dane will represent the U.S. at the Bejing Olympics.
