Review: Trinity Yachts 122' Sportfish "Mary P"

In full bloom of the sea, the mural on the wall displays this particular owner’s individual interest and perhaps, obsession.
Beautifully rendered, the designer’s artistic flair continues in the Master Bath. Traced in soft woods, lined in leather and reflected in many mirrors, the inventive theme expresses the vitality the designers, as well as the skill and execution of the craftsmen at Trinity.
Presenting a personal toilet as well as a bidet, the Master Bath also tiptoes nicely into the yacht’s excellent design pattern, but we question wood floors in an area to prone to middle of the night mistakes. With a sheer glass door; the transition from toilette to shower is easily effected.
Large enough to oblige the entire family, the Master Shower and Tub is moulded to appear like an enclosed rock quarry carved from absolute granite. Or, perhaps a small perfect coral reef section that has been secretly removed and disjointed, smuggled into the... back yard? of a 122’ yacht? The tub is also a special design with steps leading up to it; while the back-lit, etched glass walls sport murals of underwater sponges and marine life. Quite novel, and done with excellent style, so it appears the entire spaces are luxuriating deep below the surface of the sea.
Just outside the master, located in the hallway, a compact but all-inclusive ship’s laundry is a working room in itself, quite ready to handle all the daily laundering chores. The room includes a large washer-dryer, wash basin, folding counters, plus a full fold-down ironing system. Numerous small drawers and cabinets hold all the cleansing accoutrements for keeping up with the days and weeks aboard.
“Impressive” is the only word to describe this yacht’s impressive interior design patterns. Heeding to the color and fabric mixtures throughout, she presents an extremely well balanced, blended approach. While, to many naval architects and designers, this rising hallway is simply a place for wall paint and rubber treads, the designers have opted for well-fashioned and artistic colors, interesting wall decor, and an inside stairway with patterned risers. No question, a work of impressive good taste. Notice the cut-outs in the carpet? The steps lift to provide access to additional storage.
Her Guest Suite has also benefited from the design theme. Taking a page from that expression; the suite blends a quilted bed cover in the light gold-brown. Swivelling head board lamps provide illumination for reading. Each cabin has separate thermostat for comfort. The vessel also has fresh air make-up or replenishment to keep the interior fresh and eliminates need for opening port holes or hatches.
Zooming in on the Guest Suite, we see the room is easily capacious for two; and the bed’s “underwater” head-board illustration is in perfect sync. Twin bed lights and a color overhead make this a sure bet for sound, restful sleep.
Following the Master Bath decor on a considerably more modest scale, we see the Guest Bath nevertheless echoes the decor theme and colors. Its large sink basin and mirrored vanity nicely fill the ordinary needs, while the private bath/shower closet is also more than adequate, compared to many others.
The ever-present need to stay in shape is no lesser a qualification aboard a 122’ sportfish pleasure yacht. Except, however, when the offshore angling is at its roughneck and barbarian best, who needs to ride a mechanical bike to nowhere? Nevertheless, this fully furnished ocean master still has one and if the need arises, the gym has Pullman berths on two walls. Simply take the equipment off the yacht and this becomes a twin berth stateroom.
Dominating the forward quarter, the VIP Suite follows the “underwater” color patterns, and boasts its walk-around, raised queen-size berth. In addition, this room seems to have a “gimme” on the attractive “Deep Sea Dance of the Mermaids” and her salt water denizens. This may be the most comforting cabin for a grand night’s sleep, unless the night run hits a few rogue waves.
As we make note of the “perhaps” situation, let’s take a close-up look into the night panorama of that lucky denizen who won the night-time lottery. Gorgeous! to say the least; if you’re not up all night marvelling at the passers-by.
Without question, Trinity has built a marvellous reputation over many years. This newest Mary P launch presents a highly capable, advanced sport-fishing-cruising-yacht that will undoubtedly attract many followers. Stylish, extremely capable; the size and outfitting of the yacht Mary P allows her to travel where the action is, and to perform as she was designed to do. As the number of sportfishing and cruising members continues to grow, Mary P seems certain to affirm Trinity’s top place in the draw.

DETAILS

What lurks beneath the waterline of Mary P is state of the stabilized art. This boat doesn't simply have motion control, it's got ocean control!
What's this launch tube protruding from the bow? Mary P takes tournament fishing seriously. If you can't raise a bigger fish, then sink the competition! Joking aside, this is forward scanning sonar. Here fishy-fishy! That hole in the bow contains a Quantum QT-120 bow thruster that churns a pair of 4-bladed counter rotating props. To give you a sense of scale, the tube for the thruster is approximately 2 feet in diameter!
