monte carlo offshorer 27, 30 and 32

I am looking to gather information on these boats produced from the 70s to 2002.

I understand that Mr. Riva was involved in their production after he sold his yard.

It seems like the yard producing the boat has disappeared but i can see that in 2003 a mega yacht still used one as a tender

http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/ro...ip-2003-a.html

any info is welcome.

thanks,
pierre

Monte Carlo 32 was entirely designed by Nuvolari Lenard for Offshorer Marine. It was the last revision of the legendary 30' model. All the 32' were build by Cantieri di Sarnico and are difficult to find - their owners love them.

Interesting, most people I know think the 30 was much nicer (to look at) than the 32. Perhaps the added length was a plus...

Offshorer 30

I researched the Offshorer range for a long time before I settled on the classic 30 with twin petrol 350's.
I did not like the line of the 32 as much and the 30 TT was made too skinny so as to be used as a tender.
I am delighted with the simplicity of the boat (no loo, sink, fridge, cooker etc) in fact the only "extra" is the CD player!
Despite being 25 years old she looks like new and her impressive 60mph top speed means I tear past most other more modern boats.
The other "plus" is that the prices seem to have plateaued and therefore if properly looked after and winterised should hold their value for years to come.

1972 Riva 27 Offshorer

I have searched and searched for more information regarding the early Riva Offshorer after buying a 1972 27 Riva Offshorer from an auction. Link below to what I bought.
1972 Riva 27' Offshorer for sale by Mecum Auction
I have found, like a previous post, that they are making this boat again but the early ones had staggered Crusaders, I think
Interested to hear what others have found.
Thanks

Some call these boats Riva because Carlo Riva was involved, but the real name of the brand is Monte Carlo Offshorer. Most had Crusaders but I have seen the 27' with Maserati engines too...

So your saying I was mislead when I bought this boat thinking that it was a Riva when really it is a Monte Carlo Offshorer built by Riva. I guess it is just the same as when Ray Hunt built boats with Chris Craft and they were called a Chris Craft Sportsman Ray Hunt edition.
Does anybody know if this hull is worth anything? Or if I should just scrap it?
Thanks for all your help.

The Monte Carlo Offshorer boats are said to be built at R.A.M. (Revisione Assistenza Motoscafi), the service facilities for Riva owners, that Carlo Riva kept after selling the Riva brand and production to Whittaker in 1969. They may have been built at different locations as I have seen some being built in Viareggio, could have been at Overmarine.

Re your hull, if the condition is good it has a value, but not very high so a complete refit will be a lot more expensive than buying a boat in working order. So I would forget about the heritage and build something fun..

Do you still have it?

It was previously in a boat yard called Harbor 9 near a friends house on Lake St. Clair.

Travis,

With the number P-99, my friend Mark has a hunch that it was owned by Wally Harper a Detroit area boat racer and Pattern shop owner. In fact he remembers Wally telling him about it.
He is mostly known for racing his Magnum 27 sport "Lil' Smidgen".

Mark is going to print out a picture of it and show it to some old boat racers of the area to jog their memories.

Would be okay to have a look at this weekend? I'm in Chanhassen.
