It sounds like you want something somewhat fast, and seat 8 with some range, I suggest going the express cruiser route...

hey thanks for the reply
can you get an express cruiser with a fuel tank that can travel a range of 500 miles before needing to refuel, that is what i am after.
Also a cruiser with perhaps the possibility of doing 500 miles while traveling at 100 - 200 MPH?
TIA

My goodness, I read another thread you started, and you want a ski/wakeboarding boat for under 100k, go with MaterCraft or similar... As for a 500 mile range, get a diesel powered truck and tow it... |

yeah i kind of want both if i can afford it
no but for real, are there no boats that have 500 mile range?
In the link below if you read the description it says it can do 572 miles at cruising speed of 40 mph, is this really true?
It also says it is powered by twin 425 HP engines http://www.blackfishmarine.com/fountain_38_express.htm
Also one other thing, i read that seadoo have a speedster 200 model that can cruise at 35 mph with a top speed of 55 mph, i can't find any price info anywhere on the net for a new 2007 model, do you know the price?
the 200 speedster has a 425 HP engine, and a 150 liter fuel capacity do you know how many miles you can do with this?
One last thing, i was searching you tube for a video of this seadoo model and then came across a video of the Worlds Fastest Seadoo Speedster the link is here http://youtube.com/watch?v=gzWcY0_mG...elated&search=
Do you know which speedster model this is?
please answer my questions, i am very grateful, just really want to get myself a boat.
Many thanks

You can configure the cockpit to seat eight people with three bolsters up front and five in the rear. http://www.oceanexpress.com/cgi-bin/...iew_records=Go
The boat pictured is for sale in the offshoreonly.com classifieds. The asking price will astound you. I know if I had the money I would own that boat right now.
You would only need twin turbines so if you buy it you will need to do some transom work. I suggest BPM surface drives because with 1800hp on each drive you would break the Merc #6s very quickly.
Trust me when I say the asking price is probably 15% of what a new one would cost, so the turbine upgrade would be very cost-effective.
For the turbines I recommend Turbine Marine in south Florida. They are battle-tested on the Offshore Racing circuit. www.turbinemarine.com |

Have a look at Fountain's 48 Express Cruiser. Bit more space and luxury, 60+mph top speed and at 50mph it'll go for over 500 miles. http://www.fountainpower.com/boats/c.../48ec_over.asp
Unsure how successfull you'll be skiing behind surface drives. |

Maybe turbine & jets would be better if you really want to ski / wakeboard behind it. Though, you might need a 300ft rope and waterproof goggles for the spray... This might be like launching a new trend... SCUBA water-skiing...

Guys thanks for all your replies
But i don't want to water ski or wake board from one of these boats when going at 150 mph, i would be using the top speed or cruising speed for getting from A - B in a short time. I would keep it at about 25 - 40 MPH when water skiing and wake boarding.
Anyway i think i will probably not bother with one of these power boats, they seem very dangerous.
I would like to just get a speed boat, I am living in Spain, so if any of you know good Spanish speed boat builders then i would love to know of some companies that sell them under say 32,000 Euros. Also i posted some descriptions of what i am after a few posts above i hope someone can answer my questions.
Much appreciated
TIA

TIA | 150mph on the water is very dangerous, even for seasoned race drivers. The question is how rough are the waters you'll be running in? The Fountain 48EC will run 40-50mph in almost any seas less than 8'. And with triple Yanmar 485s and Arneson drives the powertrain will be almost bulletproof. Shipping charges will be minimal with your $1.5M budget.
You might also look at Magnum Yachts. Magnums are used throughout the Med for yacht tenders and are built to take heavy seas at 50-70mph. http://www.magnummarine.com/products/80/80_fr.html This one will cost a bit more than $1.5M
Sorry, I don't know of any Spanish high performance boats.

Hi,
Excuse my ignorance but where are you planning on traveling between at warp speed for 500 miles in a straight line in the Med or are you on the Atlantic Coast of Spain?

Which also brings up the thought, would you want to go 500 miles for a swim?
Even at 50mph that'll be over 10 hours. |
