| New Tender - Suggestions
I am looking for a tender. The paramters are as follows: Max 800kg all up (crane capacity) Length about 5-5.5m Preferably an inboard engine (around 200hp but open to suggestions) Preferably Jet not propeller Not a RIB! I have been looking at the Sea Doo Sportster which i like. (also Sugar Sand Tango) I have no idea about these boats - but i am looking for something good. Look forward to some suggestions! John |

Hi, It isnt easy to beat the good old Montauks´as an allround tender; http://www.bostonwhaler.com/Rec/defa...0&type=Montauk If you are looking for a toy more than a tender, I agree on something with waterjet. Also if the overhead space is limited. But for me, the 17 Whaler is the benchmark...  |

sounds good guys! I am tending towards the seadoo. The other plus for going for the sea doo is that an RXP will be along side it! common engineers to attend and perform servicing... just thought i should be aware of all options. As you say, i am looking for something more fun than just to be used as a tender - it needs to also perform the "water taxi" role to a certain degree. Will have another look at the Boston Whaler - but it has an outboard.... |

As you know the RXP shares the same engine as the Sportster 4-Tec. This is an awesome engine, huge amount of power, silent, ecological... just BRILLIANT !!! I'm absolutely jetski addicted, and I can tell you you've made a great choice by buying an RXP... Hopefully yours is yellow, just like the Sportster 4-Tec |

looks very interesting!! i would be very interested to see this in action. as far as i can see, these things weigh a lot - the 150hp Diesel is 428kg!! i will study them... but as far as i can see - this is about twice the weight of a comparable conventional outboard, isnt it?? |

Yes, they seems to be too heavy to lift for you, but in the water they have a bouyancy reducing the weight by 75 % they say. Must be pretty quiet I guess. As a tender to a big yacht I think the diesel option is not bad... |
