We have had a 5 hp for almost a year. We use it on an 8 ft hard dinghy with a light-weight fiberglass tank (even I can lift it onto the stern of our sailboat) and a 5 ft hose. After about three months there was a problem--it would sputter and stop--and we contacted Lehrs; they sent us to a repair shop and an internal leak was repaired. Since then the only problem is getting it primed due to the long hose, but once it is running it's a terrific engine.

I have the 9.9 on my AB 9.5' RIB, Alumina. Both new last summer.
    Starts and runs great.
Did have a cooing hose pop off, it had no hose clamp. Kind of a pain to get to it.
Also, seems to have difficulty planing dink with 2 onboard. Working on this but it's not a priority.
