Next Gen Anchors

Hi guys
Does anyone have experience with the new anchors like the Spade or Rockna?
I have been using a Bruce which seems to be getting some bad press for low holding power.
The new anchors claim to be stable as pull direction changes, just like the Bruce only with several times the ultimate holding power.

My tactic has been to reduce shock loads by using a Hazellette elastic snubber and deploying a drouge from the swim platform to slow the swing of the boat. Yea, it looks funny but the compass shows a reduced angle of swing and a longer period with no noise from the rode.

The new anchors have a similar form and may fit the same bow roller so I am interested in the extra safety.

Comments?
Carl

Power Boats reports did a good comparison early last summer if you can find a copy. Unfortunatley they're now out of business and I don't remember enough to advise. Maybe you can find on the net.
