When you say material, are you thinking of just raw material or what the shipyard is paying for hull, superstructure, interior, engines and equipment?
If you think of the latter, it has to do with how good the shipyard is in buying and planning ahead. As you know, most shipyards are using subcontractors and to get everything delivered and in place at the right time is what makes a yacht profitable or not.
