Low Gear Oil Pressure

Good Day All!!

I have recently taken over a 104' Broward, 1984 with 12v92a Detroits. The crew changover wasn't exactly harmonious so I didn't get a lot of inside scoop from the previous Captain.

I recently took her out for a little spin and got "Low Gear Oil Presure" alarm on the starboard DDEC system. I never lost any propulsion, as far as I could tell, and the gear oil levels are perfect.

When I took her back to idle in neutral the gear oil pressure dropped to zero as opposed to about 100 on the port side. Re-engaging her got me up to about 80.

Anybody with similar experience that might point me in the right direction?

Many thanks in advance for any help and . . .

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYBODY!!!!!

ROCKY

If you've been good, maybe it's just related to a hung-up diverter valve in your Twin Disc gear, assuming they're not ZF.
Did you already check the sender against a mechanical gauge?
You will still need to get real expert advice from a tranny mechanic, plenty of whom are in your area.

They are ZF Marine Gears

OOPS!! Me bad, I forgot to mention the Detroits are coupled to Z-F Marine Gears . . .
