Butenol instead of Ethanol

    I just read that Exxon/Mobil is behind Butenol and we're going to start seeing it blended with our gasoline in the United States as soon as next year instead of ethanol. What are the concequences for running gasoline with butenol in it that we are going to face? We already know the problems ethanol creates, but have learned to live/deal with it better now.

    Butanol fuel
    Butanol is considered as a potential biofuel (butanol fuel). Butanol at 85 percent strength can be used in cars designed for gasoline (petrol) without any change to the engine (unlike 85% ethanol), and it contains more energy for a given volume than ethanol and almost as much as gasoline, so a vehicle using butanol would return fuel consumption more comparable to gasoline than ethanol. Butanol can also be used as a blended additive to diesel fuel to reduce soot emissions.

    It's not being considered, it is becoming the next biofuel according to the article I read about it. Exxon/Mobil already has contracts to sell it to 13 different vendors to be blended into our Gasoline as early as next year in the United States to replace the 10% ethanol, mandate.
