i have a 60 foot steel ketch that i need to re-power and I’ve seen a lot of old complaints about the Volvos from the past but none recently, most past concerns are relating to the turbo clogging up with carbon due to boats chugging about,, unfortunately that’s what I intend doing!
Does anyone have any up to date comments regarding the new D3-150’s and problems they are still having??

I have no experience of this version of the D3, but in a 60 ft steel ketch, I have a feeling that I would rather have a 4 cyl iron block, like the D4/180, than a 5 cyl aluminium engine.

the motor in her now is an old sad 80hp perkins,, currents take her backwards! she is a twin mast sailer so im trying to stay light but increse power for those touchy moments. i dont know if i would want the extra weight, noise or fuel consumpion of the iron block 180hp
