    Anybody got one of the fancy DFF3 and R99 2 KW Transducers?

    I trying to figure out whether I need to spend $2k or $4k on a good sounder setup for my Navnet 3D in the Bertram 54.

    Haven't used the new DFF3, but have used the BBF3's with the R199 2 KW in-hull ducers with great success. You have to be careful of placement, but I'm sure there are a lot of 54's out there with them. The R99 is a HUGE beast and with the fairing block it could cause her to lean over at cruise. Done properly, the in-hulls work nearly as good as the externals, and don't have the trim and drag issues.
