sunseeker manhattan

Is there any issue running the heat during the winter months for weeks at a time
I try to maintain 65 f temp.
Is it wearing on the systems

No, the air conditioners are meant to run in the heat cycle. You might want to even run the heat higher such as 70 degrees. I would doubly make sure the engine room doesn't drop too low in temperature.

If you have a chilled water system with seawater intakes, just make sure you don´t leave the boat unattended. If a hose bursts you may sink the boat..

(I guess it uses water even in heating mode..?)

No, it's perfectly normal to run the a/c's for 15-20 hrs a day. It's the same principle it just reverses the freon inside the unit to create heat. Just make sure you clean your sea-strainers once a month, maybe more often. You may want to use some space heaters (the small brick ones with no exposed heating elements) to allow the heaters to cycle a bit more and in case the sea water system gets a blockage you won't lose heat entirely.

Isn't that what the automatic bilge pumps are fitted for?

Aha, I havenīt seen them on crewed yachts. Just alarm systems...
