Class: IBS (Isthmus Bureau of Shipping) Pleasure Yacht
H.P. 9651 CLASS NO 090/02; IBS MRI IBS HAZ

“Latitude” is considered the first vessel converted under IBS Class rules. A classification plaque was issued to “Latitude” on January 21, 2002 in Brazil. The vessel was registered in Panama on September 15, 2003.

The Expedition Yacht Ship has welcomed a new era in yachting, availing the ability to explore the four corners of the world with all of the comforts of the modern day superyacht that you normally see in the Mediterranean summer season and the Caribbean winter season. The rugged adventuring expedition yacht can go anywhere at any time, if you can find one. “Latitude” is a fine example and is capable of staying at sea cruising continually at 10 knots for 40 days.

Affectionately referred to as the “mother ship” by her owner, she carries a 43’ Mares Catamaran equipped to fish, as fishing is his passion .With the old haunts of Ernest Hemingway being fished out, there is a need to go to exotic out-of-the-way places to catch the big fish.

Built in Germany as a supply boat, “Latitude” was completely gutted and rebuilt inside. Everything is new including the electrical wiring and the plumbing layout .The pilothouse and main salon were extended. She has been brought into class, so she is now able to charter. The owner would like to keep the ship busy while he is not there.

The owner has used the creativity of the Brazilian design team, not only to implement a user friendly interior, but the outside living spaces are second to none, with a swimming pool Jacuzzi incorporated into the aft deck. What a pleasure after a day of fishing on the 43’ Mares sportfishing tender or simply exploring!
