| Names.
One name I'll always remember was a motor yacht in Rhodes, Greece years ago. "Well Bread". Maybe Abramovich should use it. If he does, I want my commision!

Is there a historical "norm" to naming yachts.
I heard that traditionally it was "First daughter's given name; second daughter's middle name". ie. MARY JANE
Most boats do have female names.
This pre-supposses that you have children, daughters, etc. but I am curious as to the history of boat names, and in fact why the practice even arose.

Good questions that will hopefully provide some interesting trivia. I once heard...
"You should never name your boat after your wife... because you might sell your wife".

LMAO! That's too funny. I'm young enough to know what "it's the tits" means, but I didn't think the megayacht crowd was that irreverant. LOL
Anyone have good pics of the yacht showing her name? And the tenders? I know some people that would get a good laugh from that.

Hey , what about the former Oceanfast M/Y Aussie Rules (which is now off course the Floridian). Aussie Rules seems a cool name, when i first heard about it the name jumped out at me and i said to myself *you dont hear that too often* Remember when she was Aussie Rules she had a pretty large sports fisher stored on the aft region. That name was * NO RULES* t.t Aussie Rules.. LOL.
