    Landing on the back of a yacht is harder than it looks. Besides having a limited area to set down on, the landing must be gentle and there is no room for error. This is compounded in offshore conditions, when the boat could be pitching and rolling. Throw in wind... and it can be very challenging.

    I've made several hundred landings onboard our boat and each one requires the same level of concentration. Of course there is one BIG difference... my helicopter is quite a bit SMALLER! ;) :D

    I saw that one before... :eek: I think the railing made a bad situation worse. If the landing gear hadn't been tangled in it they might have been able to pull off.... dunno' for sure. :confused:

    yeah it was from 1999. 7 killed 11 survived. the netting was indeed the problem. I was reminded of this when I saw the railings on AIR, they appear very high around the helipad but obviously certified as ok.
