Ron Holland designed "Ethereal" delivered
On Thursday, March 5th, "Ethereal" successfully completed her sailing trials and is now preparing to sail into the English Channel en route to the Canary Islands and on to the Caribbean.
After a longer than anticipated commissioning period, primarily due to refining the many new technologies this project has pioneered,
Ethereal is now ready for sea. Her performance under both sail and power (Diesel engine and Lithium battery electrical power systems) has received acclaim by all involved. She is fast, stable, responsive and beautiful. These are features that her owners Bill Joy and Shannon O'Leary Joy, placed as high priority during the development of the initial design brief.
Our collaboration with P B Design, Royal Huisman and the many systems and equipment suppliers involved during the creation of this extraordinary sailing yacht, has shown what is possible to achieve with the encouragement of a committed client.
Ethereal is surely a great example of the very best sailing yacht afloat.
